Joan Hamblet

Welcome to my webpage!

I am running for my 2nd term for State Representative for New Hampshire District 26 (Portsmouth Ward 3).

I retired in 2019 after having worked for 29 years for the State of New Hampshire.  I was a Child Support Officer for 19 of those years, working at the Department of Health and Human Services in Portsmouth.  I have been the Moderator for Portsmouth Ward 3 for the past 3 terms.  I also volunteer as a gardener for Strawbery Banke Museum, manage an Adopt-A-Spot garden in my neighborhood, and help with gardening at Star Island

My role as a Moderator has shown me that people vote because they believe that the role of our government is to protect the welfare of society.  My many years of working with the public, especially in Health and Human Services, have taught me that many people struggle with finances, health, housing and childcare.  If elected as a state rep, I will work to protect women’s reproductive rights, an excellent public education system, workforce housing, clean air and water, and safe and accessible elections. I will advocate for a vibrant business environment and a well-trained, well-compensated workforce. I care about people and want to contribute to making New Hampshire a great place to live, raise a family, and retire.

Please share with me what issues you want our state government to address. You can email me at jhamblet4@gmail.com, or call me at (603) 205-4925.  I look forward to hearing from you and ask for your vote on Tuesday, November 8, 2022!
